Placenta Encapsulation
The placenta is a temporary organ with the purpose of providing the baby with oxygen and nutrients throughout the pregnancy. It is becoming more and more common for people to have their placentas encapsulated. During this process the placenta is cleaned, steamed, dehydrated, and then ground and put into capsules.
There has not been sufficient research done on this topic yet, but there have been a few small trials done. What we know so far is that the dehydrated placenta does contain iron and 15 different hormones have been found. The two most significant are progesterone and estradiol and the researchers reported that the amount could lead to physiologic effects. The study did not look at the effects of these hormones but simple if they were present. They also found no toxic ingredients. You can get more information here.
We also have people’s personal experiences.
Many people report:
-Increased energy
-Increased milk supply
-Decreased Postpartum Depression
-Decreased bleeding
-Faster recovery
